The cold war was a rivalry between communist soviet union and its allies against the United States. Truman´s dislike towards Stalin was a cause of the cold war. Also Americans feared the communist attack.
The bay of pigs
The Bay of Pigs is located of the southern coast of Cuba. On April 16th 1961 a group of Cuban´s launched an ill- fated invasion of Cuba from the sea in the Bay of Pigs. Fidel Castro overthrew Cuba´s dictator.

Also known as the October Crisis of 1962, Caribbean Crisis, and the Missile Scare. This was a 13 day confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union. This happened during the Cold war.
Fallout shelter
This was an enclosed space for occupants to be safe away from the debris or fallout from the nuclear explosion. During the nuclear explosion matter vaporized and became radioactive. These shelters were there to protect them from the radioactive debris.

The United States decided to drop an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. This was meant to ¨kick start¨ the cold war. 100,00 people died and more died later on from radiation induced cancers.

In February of 1945 , the second wartime meeting of British prime minister Winston C. During the meeting three leaders agreed to demand of Germany´s unconditional surrender . They also began making plans for post war world.

President Truman had a conversation with Stain .During this time the president informed the soviet leader that the united states had successfully detonated the first atomic bomb. This was the third meeting of the three leaders.
