The Revolutionary war was in 1775-1783 and is the very famous war that gave America its freedom. Great Britain was unfairly taxing the colonists without their vote. The taxes were very small and weren't on very major things, but they were made because they didn't get a vote in parliament. They were feeling controlled. With many encounters between the colonists and British Guards in the colonies, war broke out. After many battles and many deaths, with George Washington the general for America, they finally gained their independence.
Indian Removal
As America started expanding westward, a major problem arose. There were Native Americans already living there who had been there for centuries. So what was their solution, to forcefully move them to worse lands. This was called the Indian Removal Act of 1830. Many significant groups such as the Cherokee tried to fight back, but lost and were forced to move. Many of them had to walk the path called the trail of tears and many of them died.
The Civil War
The civil war was a war that was based on politics and morality. This was based around the conflict of slavery and fee and slave states equality. The North wanted to abolish slavery, while the south wanted to keep it. When territories which weren't considered states joined either side, there was an outburst. Because of this, there was the first battle at Fort Sumter, a Union fort, but in the south. After many more battles, the North eventually won and outlawed slavery, but there was still much discrimination.
Mexican American War
The Mexican American War was a war from 1846-1848 that happened because of a border dispute. America was expanding because of "Manifest Destiny", the belief that it was set by god to do something. Texas got annexed from mexico, which deeply angered them. Many battles followed, but eventually America won, taking much land from mexico.
Louis and Clark Expeditions
Louis and Clark were both very popular explorers with their infamous Native guide Sacagawea. Their goal was to find a single water route to the west coast Pacific Ocean. Although they didn't find one, they mapped lots of unknown land, many new animals, and encountered many tribes. Thanks to their expeditions, westward expansion was much easier and there was much better relations between tribes.

The Fighting Temeraire tugged to her last berth to be broken up, 1838 is an oil painting by the English artist J. M. W. Turner. HMS Temeraire was one of the last second-rate ships of the line to have played a distinguished role in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. [more]
