Protest
The native people of Australia were effected too. They were enslaved and used for work. Many aboriginal people were used as policemen. Their sacred land was destroyed. Unlike them, we do not care about the environment.
deforestation
This picture portrays people cutting down trees for use and to sell. People would use the wood for houses, tools and tents.Trees also filter carbon dioxide into oxygen.
Indigenous people
This image illustrates two dead fish killed by poison used to separate gold from quartz. Many major gold mining companies disposed their waste poison into rivers for this is the cheapest way. But not the most environmentally friendly.

modern day mining
Modern day mining is very different from what mining was like in the past. Today we use open mines and are much safer than closed mines. This leaves holes lying around. Impacting the environment. Water collects and mixes with the water, making poisoned water. There is also a danger of falling down and unstable rocks.
