Theodore Roosevelt Child Hood

*When I reached my teen years my father encouraged me to participate in weightlifting and boxing, to help strengthen my body.

*Along with my poor immune system, I was diagnosed with near sighted vision at age 13.

*When I reached the age of five to six years old, my brother Eliot and sister Corinne were born

*When I reached my teen years my father encouraged me to participate in weightlifting and boxing, to help strengthen my body.

*During one of my boxing matches, I was struck in the head so hard my retina detached from my eye, causing blindness in my left eye.

Theodore Roosevelt Adult Life

*I was born October 27, 1858 on 28 East 20th Street in New York City, to my parents Theodore Roosevelt Sr. and Martha Roosevelt.

*When I reached my teen years my father encouraged me to participate in weightlifting and boxing, to help strengthen my body.

Theodore Roosevelt's Greatest Accomplishments

*One of Theodore Roosevelt's greatest accomplishments was winning the Noble Peace Prize.

*He was able to accomplish this award by bringing peace between the nations, the economy and America's natural forests.

Theodore Roosevelt's Impacts

* He resolved the tension between the capitalists and laborers, helping the economy grow.

*He also restored millions of acres of national forests, which created new homes for the wildlife inhabitants.

*He developed strong and peaceful relationships with foreign countries, bringing peace to America and throughout the world.

Was Teddy a Villain or a Hero?

*Theodore Roosevelt is one of history's best presidents due to the fact that he, brought peaceful relations with foreign countries, restored millions of acres of national forest and resolved the tension between labor and capital.

Teddy's Heroism Evidence

*Although some might think Teddy is a villain because, “He vowed to punish certain malefactors of great wealth.” (Boaz 1), his heroic actions outweighed, his villainous actions.

*For example, “Roosevelt held the ideal that the Government should be the great arbiter of the conflicting economic forces in the Nation, especially between capital and labor, guaranteeing justice to each and dispensing favors to none.” (Theodore Roosevelt 1).

*Roosevelt founded, “The conservation legacy of Theodore Roosevelt is found in the 230 million acres of public lands he helped establish during his presidency. Much of that land - 150 millions acres - was set aside as national forests.” (Theodore Roosevelt and Conservation 1).

*Lastly, Roosevelt, “brought new excitement and power to the Presidency, as he vigorously led Congress and the American public toward progressive reforms and a strong foreign policy.”(Theodore Roosevelt 1)
