The Creation of Adam
On the right side is God stretching his hand to Adam. God is surrounded by twelve different figures. The female at God's left hand is said to be Eve, the other eleven being the souls of Adam and Eve's unborn children.
The art work reflects greek and roman beliefs and myths perfectly. It tells a story, a story about the human race.
On the right of the painting it shows God stretching his hand out. He is shown as an old man with grey hair and a beard. He is surrounded by twelve figures. The one at his left hand is said to be Eve and the other eleven being the souls of Adam and Eve’s unborn children.
On the left is Adam reaching his hand out to meet God’s. Although God and Adam’s fingers are not touching symbolizing that they are not on the “same level”. God being the creator of life itself and Adam being a mere human.
