Cabaret. This is a tradition in Germany. This tradition in Germany was practiced in the clubs. In a club there will be a small theater were a monologue, a song, a decor, or some sort of music is presented.

In modern days this tradition still exists and popular too. It isn't practiced the same way but in different ways, like for an example stand up comedy, songs and political satire.

It all started in Germany Berlin. It started in stand up comedy, songs, and political satire. But now this tradition had spread out and is know in many countries. For example: UK,USA, and Dubai.
Piscator
Born in 17 December 1893 and died in 30 March 1966, Piscator, was a German theatre director and producer and, along with Bertolt Brecht. He was also Marxist and made his theatre highly political. Some of his most famous plays were Life of Galileo, Mother Courage, Her Children, and The Caucasian Chalk Circle.
Reinhard Jirgl
Reinhard Jirgl was born January 16, 1953 in East-Berlin. He is a German writer that won the Georg Büchner Prize by the German academy. His novel Nichts von euch auf Erden made in 2013, was shortlisted for the German Book Prize.
Christopher Isherwood, was a novelist, playwright, screen-writer, autobiographer, and diarist. He was also a homosexual which inspired the themes of some of his plays

Christopher Isherwood, was born in August 26, 1904, Wyberslegh Hall, United Kingdom. He created some movies and wrote some plays. his most famous plays were The Ascent of f6, On the Frontier, and The Dog Beneath the Skin. He also won the Nebula Award for Best Script.
