Heat is the movement of atoms. The more movement results in more heat. But less movement makes the object colder. Heat is also the sum of all kinetic and potential energy of the particles in the object.
Thermal Equilibrium
Thermal Equilibrium occurs objects come into contact and try to reach the same temperature.
Temperature
Temperature is the measurement of thermal energy in an object. Can either be measured in Kelvin, Celsius, and Fahrenheit. The contraption has mercury on the inside that expands the more thermal energy there is.
CONDUCTION
Conduction is when heat transfers between substances in direct contact.
Convection
When thermal energy transfers from hot places to cold places, convection is taking place. Warm air is less dense that cold air, so it rises and cold air sinks.
Radiation
Radiation occurs when thermal energy is transmitted through empty space sideways through electromagnetic waves
