Wrap up- genetics, adaptations, and Natural selection
My wrap on this unit of science
Physical trait
As, you can see, these are adaptations the jaguar did over generations. These are helpful and beneficial to them because they are predators. The sharps claws, and sensitive whiskers helps hunting.
Behavioral trait
Behavioral traits found in animals are mostly always instinctive. They don't learn these traits they are born with the intelligence of knowing what to do to survive.
Natural slection
The natural selection in the photo is a perfect example. The predators will find the mice that are lighter because the don't blend in. They are perfect for birds but not for fate. The darker mice will blend in, hiding from predators.
Genetics
Genetics are the study of heredity. Heredity is the offspring from parents to the children.
Mutations
Mutations are when a base pairs don't match up correctly. They can be helpful, harmful or have no impact. Mutations can happen in any animal and human that are alive.
Adaptation
A feature or trait common in an environment because it provide a helpful function
DNA
DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) the genetic information
Bases
the letters ATCG for DNA
Phenotype
the physical feature the organism shows or expresses
The picture wouldn't upload, I tried different things with Mr. Ericson but nothing would work.
