There are many things we use nowadays in the modern world. But do you know where they truly originated from? If you thought the golden age of Islam, then you though correctly, here are seven people who changed the world in great ways.

Abbas Ibn Firnas was the first man to make a flying machine back in the 9th century in Yemen, 100 years before da Vinci drew plans of his own. It was made of wood and a kind of silk material and even though it did not fly for long, it was the first idea out of the rest.Without Abbas ibn Firnas, the world would most likely of course still have flying planes but of course they would be less advanced and slower

Abu Ja'far Muhammed Ibn Musa Al- Khwarizm was the first man to nvent the idea of Algebra from 813-833CE in Baghdad. He invented the concept of algebra in mathematics. He also made a famous book named Kitab Al-Jabr wa al-Muqabilah ("The Book of Integration and Equation") which provides the product of the word “Algebra”.‘Algebra’ is used in every structural building you see around you, without algebra today, or back then, many of the most significant buildings would not exist and the world would not be as advanced as it should be.

Al Zihrawi was the man who invented surgery in 1000CE in Europe. He invented surgery, and many of the tools used back then are still used today. During his time of work, he discovered the use of cat gut to stitch wounds, beforehand a second surgery had to be performed to remove sutures. Surgery helped many people in many ways, it helped stitch people's bruises and helped people survive, and if it was not for surgery, most humans most likely would not be here today.

Fatima Al-Fihri was the first women to invent university in 859CE, in Fez, Morroco. Fatima Al-Firhi founded the first-degree counting university and alongside her was her sister, who was the founder of the adjacent mosque and her name was Meriam and together the complex became the al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University. Without them both, humans would not be able to get a complete education and go to pray and worship god, without this, many people would not be able to get enough education to invent amazing inventions to help with the world.

Muhammed Ibn Zakariya Al-Razi lived from 854-925, he made hard soap in the middle east. In the Middle East, soap was produced from the interaction of fatty oils and fats with alkali. In Syria, soap was produced using olive oil together with alkali and lime. Soap was exported from Syria to other parts of the Muslim world and to Europe.

Soap today helps keeps and hands clean and prevents us from catching viruses, it is very important and critical to always use soap and wash your hands as there might be many viruses that can infect you.

Omar Khayyam lived from 1044-1092 an was interested in Mathematics, astronomy, philosophy, and poetry.Khayyan’s best known scientific contributions were in algebra and astronomy. He also invented the calendar.Without the calendar, humans would not be able to tell what day it is, they would get mixed up and would not have any time to do anything, they would not be able to set things such as meetings on specific dates and it would be very confusing.

Prophet Muahmmad (pbuh) made the first toothbrush in 600CE in Saudi Arabia. He used a twig from the Meswak tree, he cleaned his teeth and freshened his breath with that twig. Substances similar to Meswak are used in modern day toothpaste.Without toothbrushes, humans would still not have any possible way to brush their teeth and make their breath smell good, and the teeth would not be well taken care of and many people would have to go to the dentist which would not have existed if it was not for the toothbrush as humans would believe there is no need to clean your teeth.
