The Agricultural Revolution was a time of new discoveries and new methods of crop rotations.

During the Agricultural Revolution, the Jethro Tull’s seed Drill made it easier for farmers to plant seeds and farm more efficiently. There was also a method called the Dutch Four Crop Rotation System, which rotated the crops every year so that animals could breed year round. It was also discovered that plants called legumes and cover crops could replenish the fields nutrients without leaving the fields empty. As a result of these methods and technologies, farmers had an easier time, farming and keeping themselves healthy with the good food they were growing.

The Enclosure Movement was a time when richer owners of land wanted to take over and consolidate land that was owned and shared by poor land owners.

When large farm owners wanted to gain more land, they took the smaller farmers land, small farms couldn't compete. As larger farms became more popular, small farmers had to flee their farms and find new jobs in the city. Therefor, small cities became involved in urbanization.

The steam engine was a new advancement in the early 18th century, it powered new machines so they would work faster and more efficient than they did before.

The steam engine was invented by Thomas Newcomen, it was powered by coal to pump water out of mines, rather than relying on water to power machines. During this time, there was an abundance of natural resources, including coal, making the steam engine easy to power. In 1764, James Watt improved the engine so it would power machines like trains and ships to transport goods easier and faster.

Urbanization occured mainly in the early 1800s, many towns found that their population grew due to workers needing new jobs.

When large farm owners wanted to gain more land, they took the smaller farmers land, small farms couldn't compete. As larger farms became more popular, small farmers had to flee their farms and find new jobs in the city. Therefor, small cities became involved in urbanization and rural areas became less common.

Factories became more popular as new inventions came about, it was a more efficient way to make an abundance of products quicker than before.

Factories came with urbanization, as new workers came in and new inventions came about, it was easier for workers to make products under the direction of their master. Factories were not always the best place to be but people needed the job to support their family. Before factories, workers would have to make products from their home which would take much more time than it would in the factory. There were lots of controversies that arose from workers in the factories, particularly women and children.

Child workers, worked in really bad conditions, dirty workspace, they were given food and water but not much, and had rough hours.

Children worked in factories from the young age of four years old, they were paid low wages, and had the chance of getting seriously hurt. Factories needed children to work so that when a machine broke, the kids could go up into the machine and fix it, because they were so small. Children worked on average of 12-60 hour shifts without a lot of brakes. As a result children faced a lot of potential health issues in the workplace, being killed by an unsupervised machine, back issues, diseases, there was little to no medical help.

Women originally made goods from their homes, but due to new inventions coming around, it was easier and faster for goods to be made, factories hired employees to make an abundance of them at one time. Women had a hard time finding jobs that weren't textile jobs, the owners of the factories viewed women as modest and having gentle hands meaning they were great for textile jobs, textile jobs most of the time. Women wanted more job options and they wanted to be equal with men, men had all the job options and had a good wage that they could live one. Most men thought women should stay home, cook, clean, take care of the kids, but women knew they could work just as hard as men, and complete the same jobs they do, they just wanted a more equal chance.

Many people fought so that women were more equal to men in the workspace, and so that children had better laws to protect them from dangers of the factories.

Women wanted to have more respect in the workplace, not only that, but they, along with other people, didn't like the working conditions for children either. Women wanted equal wages to men, healthcare/sick leave, respectful treatment, and they wanted accommodation for domestic duties with work. Children worked crazy hours, dangerous jobs, and started work at young ages, many people wanted this to change and it did. Strikes and forming unions were common in order to make a difference during time, because of these movements, many laws and changes were made, which we can still even see today.

Although factory jobs were the most common jobs, there were many other jobs that were just as dangerous and rough as factory jobs.

Women had lots of issues within the workspace, unfair wages, they could only be employed in certain jobs and didn't have the same opportunities as men.

Socialists were very common during this time, but there were two other economic groups as well who didn't agree with each other.

There are many differences between the three economic systems, Socialists wanted a more equal society, Communists wanted a classless society, and Capitalists wanted individuals to pursue their own self-interest. Feminists were most commonly known as being socialists during this time because they believed that everyone deserved to be equal no matter who they were and what position they were in.
