very diverse. It was made up of Greece, Bulgaria, Egypt, Hungary, Romania, Jordan, etc.
Even if the Ottoman empire had a good economy and strong government, it still would’ve been really hard to rule such a vast and diverse empire. As soon as the Ottoman empire got weak, countries were calling their independence left and right. Since the countries making up the empire didn't want to be part of it, there was no way to win against external forces. Not having solid unity was a very big internal problem for the Ottoman empire and helped lead up to the demise.
