Ethan Zhao, The negotiations at the end of WW1 were disastrous for the future.
Article Pg. 65 Treaty of Versailles
At the end of page 65 it states “As compensation for the destruction of the coal-mines in the north of France and as part payment towards the total reparation due from Germany for the damage resulting from the war, Germany cedes to France in full and absolute possession, with exclusive rights of exploitation, unencumbered and free from all debts and charges of any kind, the coal-mines situated in the Saar Basin as defined in Article 48.” This shows how much Germany was punished at the end of WW1 pushing Germany to take all the blame for WW1. This caused hate from Germany that may have forced Germany to go to war again.
This is a map of what the Treaty of Versailles would do to the Central Powers, this is relevant to my claim because it shows how harsh the treaty was causing Germany's hate to be so much stronger.
This is an article about the League of Nations which was formed after WW1 to try and stop another World War from happening. When the League was formed bad regulations were put in place making it almost impossible for these stronger countries to ratify any type of rules to stop disputes. This caused Germany to be able to rise to power again for WW2. This is relevant to my claim because it shows how these negotiations after World War 1 didn’t work and caused bad outcomes.
This is an article on key points of why the League of Nations which was formed after WW1 to stop big disputes was bound to cause problems in the future, one of the big problems was because the League didn’t include many nations that wanted to have a say but they weren’t invited, causing many nations to not care for the League. Also the U.S. one of the architects of the League as well as a major player in the world did not join, weakening the possibility the League would be able to make any actual change. This is all relevant to my claim because the League of Nations caused many problems for the future.
This is a picture of how Germany over printed their money so that they could pay off the retributions which killed how much their money, the Mark, was worth.
After WW1 because of the Treaty of Versailles Germany was forced to pay 6.6 Billion British pounds to pay as retribution. When Germany couldn’t pay the retributions, troops took German mines and factories, this supports my claim because it shows how these negotiations were unfair and forced Germany's hand in the future because of the economic devastation.
How the Great Depression was started by the end of WW1
This is a picture of how men kept losing jobs because of the Great Depression.
This article is on the Great Depression and how it was partially caused by WW1. After WW1 because of the bad negotiations Europe was struggling to pay for damages and rebuild, because of this in a short period of time, world output and standards of living dropped precipitously. As much as one-fourth of the labor force in industrialized countries was unable to find work in the early 1930s. This supports my claim because it shows how these negotiations caused huge economic problem afterwards.
How the Treaty of Versailles affected the German Citizens
This article is on the Treaty of Versailles and how it affected the lives of German citizens. It shows how because of the Treaty of Versailles this forced Germany to take the blame for WW1, this caused Germany to lose 13% of its land and 12% of it’s population. These changes caused many Germans to be outraged and brewed more hatred for the Allies. This caused revolutions and the rise of power of many extreme nationalism parties. This supports my claim because it shows how these negotiations caused problems in the future.
This is a picture of Italy after the Treaty of Versailles, you can see how Italy didn't earn much land.
After WW1 the negotiations didn't give Italy much reward for how many people they had lost in the war, this was partially why Italy decided to join Germany in WW2. This proves my claim because it shows how the negotiations hurt Italy forcing Italy to join Germany.
This was a battleship from WW1 owned by Japan, after the war and the peace negotiations Japan had to give up many of their ships. Japan's experience during the peace negotiations was a factor that led them to "switch sides" 25 years later. This supports my claim because it shows how these negotiations caused countries to switch sides.

Conclusion
In conclusion, WW1 was a bad war and it was ended irresponsibly, after all of these pieces of evidence I believe I have proved that the end of the Great War's negotiations were horrible for the future.
