‘There was time I cried secretly because I couldn’t understand what ‘art’ is. However, I liked to apply vivid color like a red or a blue on a large surface which represents something. And the subjects of his paintings – from the early ‘smoking cyclists’ with disheveled hair to ‘waiting’ in the arbitrary for a more comfortable future of the New-Hellenes and from the ‘angel-lovers’ to the ‘ancient Gods and heroes’ - speak Greek, which, miraculously, in understood by everyone.
Alekos Fasianos
Apart from being an exceptional painter, Alekos is also a wise man who has not lost the feeling of the childhood and his passion for creation. Just like him, we should all be pursuing the inevitable, pursuing our dream and stop waiting for motivation. Fasianos himself said ‘There’s no need for me to go to my atelier to create something. Inspiration may come to me while walking in the street or boiling rice in the kitchen’.
