Gropius was born on the 18th of May 1883 and died on the 5th of July 1969. He is widely regarded as on of the pioneering masters of modern architecture, upon being appointed head of the Weimar School of Arts and Crafts. Even when the school had to move due to political reasons in 1925, Gropius designed the main structure of the school, which included a steel frame construction. Gropius had been married twice and had two children throughout his life.
Gropius in Harvard
Gropius emigrated to the states with many other architects from Germany in 1937 9 years after stepping down as the head of his art school back in Germany. Once Gropius had moved to the states he began teaching at Harvard University, After a year he was made chairman of his department and in total he taught at Harvard for 14 years!
The End of Ernst
The Nazis stopped all of Ernst May's planning and construction nd presented the estates to foreign visitors as their own new national socialist architecture. Following this Ernst May moved to the soviet union with many other architects following his lead.
Bahuas Art
The concept for Bahaus art was to reimagine the material world to reflect the unity of all arts. The style of Bahaus was: geometric, abstract style featuring little emotion, no historical nods, clean lines, and primary colours.

ernst May Buildings
Ernst May was the lead architect for an affordable housing program in Frankfurt. the housing met all the basic needs and set high standards for urban development. During his time as head architect May built 12,000 homes with 2000 still being planned.
However, it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies for Mr. May. Nazis were criticizing May's work and said it to be 'Mr. Mays small soviet industry' .

Bruno taut
Bruno Taut was born on the 4th of May 1880 in Germany and was a prolific German architect during the Weimar period. He was best know for his theoretical work, speculative writings and handful of exhibition buildings he can be classified as a modernist and an expressionist. However he was not liked by the Nazi party due to his commitment to being a strong pacifist. He died on the 24th of December 1938 and was buried in Istanbul's first non-Muslim cemetery.
