Art in the weimar period drastically changed. As people grew richer
(hyperinflantation one trillion marks was 1 dollar) and freedom of speech was
incouraged, the idea of « a new woman » immersed. the people in
germany expressed themselves through art. Germanys artists questioned the
traditonal values and styles of the 19 century, in particular the old prussian
styles that emphasised strength, authority and militarism.
Many new teqniques were used and formed, like dada (an art movement
thats about a negative response to the war, but shown in a satirical and in
non-sense type of way.) which helped introduce Collage as they were strongly
used in this sense of way, with cut out of from newspapers, creating
funny/sarcastic imagery of political leaders
