I have included this photo because it shows the time (1918 - 1923) when the Weimar Republic printed lots of money to pay to France, while its value decreased. Therefore, most of the people in the Weimar republic struggled because it was mostly the middle class.
The Treaty of Versailles (June 1919)
I chose to include this picture because it shows when the Treaty of Versailles was agreed upon after the war to keep peace. We can see that a lot of countries signed it.
The Dawes plan (1924)
I chose this picture because it shows the plan Stresemann and Mr. Dawes came up with to deal with the hyperinflation. They came up with the ‘Dawes Plan’ and it worked until 1929.
Hitler’s appointment of chancellor (January 30, 1933)
I chose to include this picture in my exhibition because it shows how Hitler is appointed chancellor. After that, the Weimar Republic ends.
Fire in the Reichstag (February 27, 1933)
I chose to include this picture because it shows how Hitler burned the Reichstag to get rid of communists. He blames the fire on a Dutch communist. Now communist parties are not allowed in the parliament and they can be accused of something without proof.
The Wall Street Crash (1929)
I chose this picture because it shows what happened on the Wall Street Crash. After that, the Weimar Republic was in great poverty.
Night of the Long Knives ( June 1934)
I chose to include this picture because it shows when Hitler killed Röhm secretly. He did it because he was getting too powerful in the parliament. He wanted to have no competitors.
Marching into the Rheinland (1936)
I chose to add this photo to my exhibition to show how Hitler marched into Rheinland, going against the Treaty of Versailles, but the other countries are fine with it because he is only marching into his own country. This event contributes to the start of World War 2.
The Thrive of the Weimar Republic (1924-1929)
I chose to include this picture because it shows the time when the Weimar Republic thrived. Its culture expanded and became richer. This is because of the US giving money to Germany. Because of this, Germany is seen as less aggressive, and is allowed to join the League of Nations.
Death of Hindenburg — Rise of Hitler (August 1934)
I chose to add this picture to show the death of Hindenburg, after which Hitler became Führer (president).
